I fancied making a hat with the shape of a hood, the film Fargo somewhere in the back of my head. The hat is a warm cover for ears and forehead and suits several seasons but most importantly many moods. You could also braid cords from the ears to tie them together or just to give the earflaps a better swing.
Earflaps and fold-up brim are worked back and forth. The hat is worked in the round until top, then worked back and forth. Round begins at right back side.
